Celebrate

I thought I would step away from the Scrapbook Page today and make a card.  My Stepson's birthday is next week and this is the creation I made for him.

I used the Cricut Craft Room Basics designs for the card, matting and title.  The pinwheel was made using the 3D  Pinwheel design found in the Cricut Craft Room Exclusive collection.  It was cut at 3" and fastened with a plain brad to keep it mascline...though a flower brad was adorable if you want to girl it up a bit.  I used Helmans craft glue to fasten the pinwheel to the skewer and the skewer to the card.

This was a picture taken at the race track where my stepson races every Saturday night.  I always call my daughter from the track, but she was actually here that weekend.

This is my attempt at layering and clustering that seems to be  a trend in scrapbooking these days.  The papers are from My Minds Eye.  I used the bottom strip that normally one would cut off and covered the barcode with my journaling.  The title was cut using the Art Nouveu cartridge by Cricut.  The medallion in the center of the threaded string is by Bo Bunny, from their Momarazzi collection.  I framed the picture with some of the paper and punched the corners using an EK Success Corner punch. (A tool I forget to use, but love).  The flowers are by Prima. I faux stitched around the picture mat using the Imaginesce Sew Stamper using the cross stitch head. Though they don't show up well, the brads and eyelettes really add the bling the page needed, when put together.  They are by Making Memories.  I am not quite sure who makes the heart brad.  My LSS sells them in plastic bags

You Color My World

I just love this picture of my DD and her boyfriend.   If you get the chance that I did to take your kids out for a photo shoot, I highly recommend it.  It can give you months of scrap pictures.  Come up with page titles before you go, so you know how to tell them to pose.  I do photo shoots at this location a lot for couples and it amazes me how the same pose idea always comes out different for each session.  They always tell their story in how they translate the pose.

I made the entire page with the Cricut Craft Room, Walmart's white paper, Prima Pebbles and bling and of course, glue.  I used the following cartridges:
Art Philosophy (circle behind the heart, butterfly on the banner and, the heart)
Cricut Craft Room Basics(title)
Picks and Pennants (banners below the picture)
Hey Diddle Diddle (background Paper on the blue)
Enjoy the Seasons (coloring on all of the lembellies and title, except the blue background and mat)

This layout also looked cute with a Notebook Dooles paper for the background, but I wanted to keep it muted to highlight the color so it would emphasize the title.

My Person

Here is the second in the series of pics take at Tharpe's Mill with my DD and her boyfriend.

I used the following cartridges and the Cricut Craft Room to make this layout with nothing but white paper, bling and a little Stickles in Frosted Lace:  Home Decor (flourish), Storybook (flourish and frame),  Elegant Edges (Doily), Imagine More Cards (middle strip of paper), Country Carnival (butterfly), Art Philosophy(Corners), Walk in my Garden (banner flowers), Ribbons and Rosettes (boder strip on the left side) and Imagine More (background).

Wonderul You

Here is a scrap I made of my daughter and her boyfriend.  They came down to visit me for Mother's Day Weekend. I took them to my favorite Photographing spot for Romance and Family.

Believe it or not, this is scraps of Christmas paper that used over the holidays and decided to put to use.  I die cut the flowers from Paper Trimmings and the title is from A Child's Life.  I hand cut the heart.  (Don't want to loose those cutting skills I learned in kindergarten)   The borders were made from the Paper Trimmings cart too.  That was the last of my Chicken Wire paper by Basic Grey (sniff).  The flowers were from bags of Prima Flowers I bought a year and a half ago from Scrapbook.com.  Boy was that a good purchase. I still have tons of those left.  If you ever see that deal, grab it!

Strawberry Field

I made this for the Stuck In You Sketch challenge.  My daughter and her boyfriend came down for a visit over Mothers Day weekend.  Our neighbor called us on Saturday morning and told us to get strawberries from his field. He had 5 rows and would never use them all.  We dressed and went over right away.   As we were picking, my daughter said "Does anyone else here the Beatles in their head?"  She really makes me laugh.  We got enough to send them home with two gallons, I canned 23 jars of strawberry jam and my husband even has a gallon and a half left to munch on.  I personally cannot eat them raw. I break out in hives.

I used the Echo Park's Graceful This and That paper that I downloaded and printed from JessicaSprague.com.  The strawberries are cut from Hello Kitty Greetings.  I hand cut off center circles to make the flowers and then wrapped ribbon under andaround them for extra pop.  Then I punched the Martha Stewart Lace Heart punch and put them on punched Circles as adornment down the border.  The flower with the strawberries was fussycut from the Echo Park paper, left over from the flowers and border.  I got the lace at Debs Lace and Trims online.  She has some real deals at 5 yards per and delivers really fast.

Gift Bags and Cards

A last minute party came together where I had to create wrapping for gifts without going to a store. I chose a grocery bag, painted it and made some Cricut cuts to dress it up a bit.

I used Birthday Bash since it has so many cute kids motifs and also, Imagine More Cards and Blast Off to save more time.  Not bad for a pinch.  I left the handles in the Kraft brown for contrast.
