Proud Parents of the Graduate

My niece is the last of three my brother and his wife have put through school.  All have gotten their Masters.  She is now in her Masters program but this was her undergrad graduation day.  You can see how happy they are to see the light at the end of the tunnel.  So many scraps highlight the graduate, but it also an accomplishment for the parents. I wanted to highlight them.

I downloaded the Echo Park Sweet Day collection on Jessica Sprague's website.  The colors seem muted to me in design, but I think that was because of the black mat I used trying to highlight her mother's blouse since the background highlighted my brother's shirt.   I have been experimenting with Glitter Girl's techniques of layering and tying titles together in the design, but this is not one of my better attempts,  It does look better in person, but I may have to redo this one later on.

I Think Amanda Likes Him

I found this picture of my niece on facebook.  I take it she likes Brad Paisley.  Facebook is great for getting to know the little things about my family who lives in another state.

I made this on the Imagine, using Artiste for the title andembellisments and, More Cards for the patterned paper.  The border is from Paper Trimmigs.   I snipped off sets of two mini crystals that were left over from the swirl.  The paper swirl is grungeboard, painted pink using Jenni Bowlin paint.  The smaller part of the title was from a sticker sheet I had gotten at Micheal's.

What a Kick

This was a picture take of me an my DD for Mothers Day.  I had made her lift her foot all day  in the shoot as she kissed her boyfriend.  She told me to lift mine for this photo.  She calls it a Betsy shot.  Betsy is my friend who takes cute photos.

This was made using the Cricut Imagine and the Artist cartridge.  The title was from Opposites Attract.  I slanted the upright font on the cart.  The strips of harlequin and polka dots were made stamping distressed ink on white paper strip.  The stamps are by Tim Holtz.  The joural tag is topped with Washi Tape I found at Michaels.  The picture is it's pocket.  The now fixed crooked cloud was cut with white paper on the Imagine and then inked with denim blue distress ink.  The papers are by Pink Paisley.

What a Great Dog

This is my little Chihuahua, Roscoe. He is the best dog. He minds well and runs to me with all of his heart when I call him when outside. I just adore the little pup.

I made this using Recollection paper found at Micheals. The title was cut from red cardstock using the Art Philosophy cartridge.  I used the Fiskars Treading water punch to make the black borders.  The journaling spots are from October Afternoon.   The hearts were punched using an EK Success punch.
