Stuck on U Die Cut Challenge Reveal: Lucky Brothers

This week's challenge at Stuck on U Sketches was to use a die cut of a shamrock.  Our grandsons are the sweetest playmates.  They share their toys well and are always very helpful and supportive of one another.   They are showing signs of being lifelong friends. They are lucky to have one another.  I found the luck of the shamrock to be the perfect embellishment for this layout.

I was inspired by Wilna at Two Peas in a Bucket in her In the Mood to Scrap video for this layout.  You begin with a piece of cardstock and paint vertical stripes on one side very thickly with paint. I chose green and aquas to go along with the shamrock theme.  You then lay a die cut background on top of the paint so it comes up through the pattern.  You let it dry for 24 hours.  The rest of the layout was simply the photos and layered embellies.  These are from the Fourteen collection by Crate Paper. I also printed embellies from the Seen and Noted collection by Pebbles.  I printed them on cardstock and hand cut them.  The title was made using Thickers and the Prima stamping block using Tim Holt's Broken China Distress Ink.  I layered gridded vellum that I got at Scrapbook.com in a small square to cover the red flowers to give them more of an orange look.  I sprinkled various shades of glimmer mist to give the corners a confetti look. I also stitched around the page to highlight the shamrock and to anchor the white paper on the orange. This was a very fun layout to make, and I love how it turned out. Thank you Wilna!  Head over to SOU to join in on the challenge.  We would love to see your ideas and art too.
